The trouble with computer folks is that they always start with step number 2 leaving the ordinary person at a loss.
I've been using Netscape 7.1 on Windows XP Professional.
Netscape Messenger has developed some bugs, so I'd like to upgrade to Thunderbird.
Do I download Thunderbird alone or do I download Firefox alone, or do they both come together?
The article about installing Thunderbird did not include information about importing a profile from Netscape, which I would like to do. Will Thunderbird ask me about importing a profile BEFORE I have to set up a new profile? I don't want to set up a profile and then have trouble importing my old one with my old emails, addresses, etc.
Is it necessary to download and install BOTH Firefox and Thunderbird or will they work without each other?
Can I get information through FAQs or whatever on how to delete Netscape after I've transitioned to Thunderbird? I don't want to delete my old emails and addresses in the process.
My questions seem REALLY basic, but they are NOT addressed in FAQs or elsewhere on the Mozilla Website.
