Sound Check by lordadonis (hero of the moment!)
The way to go for promotion is to write a song.
Then, get the song on radio stations nation/worldwide.
You could hit up the younger audience, or those that prefer the news stations (see: NPR).
Just my one cent(s).

A poem by John T. Hodges Jr. To Every One
A poem to all of you " You Beautiful Butterfly" As time goes by Its not time to set and cry For its time to go and fly Ho you so beautiful butterfly Because you have blossemed in such a way That you have become such a delight to the day For as the days and nights come and go You become such a magnificent glow And to the Earth ways that it flows You see that spring time is so very near Do not think of sheading a single tear For days are soon to come that there be no more fear So as you become born again from that time of your sleepy eye You blossem out into such a beautiful butterfly Then take your flight in the sky With the ones that will not die Ho you so beautiful butterfly

Here and accounted for ^^
...as for promotion though, this site needs to have a bit more. Like perhaps forums, a bit more content?
I think having users able to "decorate" their user profiles with personal avatars and such would also help.
I'm a bit of a fool, but couldn't resist...here's a mascot I also designed:

Great Suggestion
Why not visit some groups in different areas, mns groups has a lot to check out like they have genealogy, charity, family, and much more. I have three groups there and a few websites and groups with other servers like yahoo, earthlink, and I will post your site there on my pages. And make sure to leave a link for them to stop in and check out your site.
I would suggest to also set up a paypal account so you will be able to accept donations or funding to help keep the site going or maybe so you can do fundraisers. I feel that once this site gets noticed you will have a very popular site.

Is the next proposal dopey, or what!
Obviously, thegridlocksmith is a true newby! Who else would start making proposals before setting his profile? Then he would have known that links have been thought about and acted upon. He is well intentioned, though, and perhaps folks can cut him some slack... if he promises to get his headquarters out of his hindquarters! doh!
I realize that this should actually be a "comment" but this way you get to see this msg first. If you give me another chance, and not banish me from Heroville, I will get to work on that poem.
If you decide to reset my score to minus two, or minus two-hundred, I will understand.

Heroes, link up!
New tester, from www.thegridlocksmith.blogspot.com reporting for doody.. uhh, duty. Please forgive the blatant plug, but it ties in with my proposal. Lots of heroes must have blogs and websites, e-lists and BBS's that they can post a blurb (blerb? blirb?) and a link to aymh.com.
I am fairly new to blogging, and have yet to figure out how to post a link, but will get right on it. (Is there a better free service than blogspot, AKA, blogger to use for my blog?) Am also trying to figure out how to post my pic, as it seems to think the pix on my hard drive have url's.
The song idea has great merit. Give me a couple daze and I will give you a poem, which, as we all know, is lyrics without the music.
"Being not too fond of flatulence,
I do eat beans with reticence."
OK, so what do ya want from a ten second sample?
Remember, if it's not fun, it's not being done right!
"Are you part of the problem or part of the solution?
Set a safe example in traffic."
