The Never Ending Quest

There is no actual way to completely stop a person that is infected with the delight of stealing.

All hero's here must remember, we can not save a life if they do not wished to be saved. Yes you can report a suicidal person to the authority's, but what do you believe they will do once they get out? Because seeking help will not be their next option because it got them locked up and unable to commit the act. Sometimes we must be stronger to accept the things we cannot change for we all are only human.

Medicate the sickness not the symptom.

You should be warned that theft and other such crimes are not a sickness, but a symptom of a disease that grips the heart of our society like a wretched plague.

Charging out and arresting some guy who needs to feed himself is not only cruel but a waste of time. If you truly want to stop thieves you have to combat what turns people to crime to begin with. Poverty, fear, corruption, despair. These are the true enemy, not some bum.

Ghandi once said that victory through violence is just as bad as defeat, because it is temporary. I'm not saying roll over and accept evil, but understand that a man who steals is not the true demon driving his crimes. People want to be good, some just don't know how, or are scared of the difficulty that comes with an honest life.

Open your eyes, your ears and most off all your heart, and when the demons present themselves do not fear to strike them down with all your righteous fury. You will know, and only you will know what your path is when you see it, and you must not be afraid to tread that path my friend.

Career choices

Have you given any thought of going into the police force of the military? If you would like to aid the world in a large way like that, then you will be perfect for those jobs. They are tough, but extremely rewarding.

Good luck.

Ahhh, you must educate them...

Or ship them off to El Dorado. Then, they won't even need to steal, but when they do, they won't get any benefit from it. And then, they couldn't escape and so they wouldn't come back to bother us everyday citizens.

Stop The Ives

I think that's what Ash meant. I assume she's referring to the unsuccessfully named ska band? not Operation Ivy or the Jives or The Ives classical quartet, or even the venue in Danbury. Someone on MySpace thinks The Ives would be a cool name for a band, too.

can they even play? the horns, that is?

Properly Placed Signage

I think it was the artist Winslow Homer that, to better deter trespassers in his studio, used a novel technique. On a bare wooden background Homer wrote out the following warning in stark black paint: "SNAKES! SNAKES! MICE!" He would strategically plant the sign at a safe distance away from his easel, perhaps propped up against bushes or near the studio door, to establish a buffer zone of angst that would warn away any but the most intrepid interrupters.

This might be something to look into as thieves are cowards of the highest degree and are not too keen on such things.

Yeah, I think signage is the way to go in this.

I'd think just being observant - not spying, but observant -- would help. If you ever see anything suspicious call the police.

As for stopping thieves...well, if you make a good impression on people and are honest and such yourself, maybe more folks will get that vibe from you and be that way as well. ^^

online search

maybe you could start by learning how to spell thief/thieves. that way you'll find more useful information in your favourite search engine.

next, think about what you want your next quest to be like *first*, and *then* write your quest up accordingly, instead of writing a quest about what other quests you'd like to post. if you present people with clear goals, they can work towards them more efficiently.

what you personally, as a civilian, can do, is limited. you can make sure no one steals anything from *you*, allright. not so difficult, actually, just take care of your stuff, don't carry your wallet in your back pocket, don't leave your valuables visible in your parked car, you know the deal. in order to protect *others* from tieves, though, well ... join the police?
